Phuket on its day has some can match with some of the more well known fishing spots around the world. The Racha Islands roughly 15 miles from Phuket offers some great fishing for sailfish normally during the afternoon and on the right tides good fun can be had casting poppers to shoals of Giant Trevally. Further afield the Similan Islands 60 miles North of Phuket offers the angler the chance to fish live on board the boat for a multi day charter. During Oct-march the seamount Ton Mai west of the islands gives you the best shot at catching a Black Marlin and often big catches of Wahoo. For those looking for a little more adventure the Andaman Islands (India) 400 miles west of Phuket is the place for you. Totally un spoilt never commercially fished and still wild this place holds a wealth of great fishing, extra large marlin, yellow fin tuna, big dogtooth tuna and sharks by the hundreds. What ever your choice of destination here at Wahoo we can accommodate you.
Phuket
The magical island of Phuket is widely referred to as the "Pearl of the Andaman Sea. The Andaman Sea is home to numerous species of gamefish. Many species are present year-round and there is a continuous procession of migratory visitors that use Phuket and the neighbouring islands as regular pit-stops. As with virtually every gamefishing venue, there are specific seasons when the pelagic visitors are more prolific. The most productive seasons also depend on weather and sea conditions. Although Black Marlin may well be present over Phuket’s continental shelf for most of the year, there are periods when targeting them may be prevented due to adverse sea conditions. more
Similan Islands

Koh Rok Nok & Koh Rok Noi Island
These two spectacular islands are situated 60-miles South East of Phuket. They are uninhabited - except for the resident Forest Rangers. On the West side, the islands are dominated by towering limestone cliffs while the East coast offers a superb landscape of dripping rainforest, gently sloping to powdery white coral sand beaches. Many of the ancient trees are festooned with wild orchids and other exotic tropical vegetation. During the rainy season, a waterfall cascades from the cliff tops into the sea. The islands are separated only by a narrow channel, in which there are several mooring buoys where we generally spend the night. more
